Girl Scouts do a good turn for their local library

Local girl scouts donate toys and craft items to Cook Memorial Public Library District

Troop 1432, 5th graders from Butterfield School, personified the Girl Scout slogan Do a Good Turn Daily with their visit to Cook Park Library on Monday, April 30. As part of their work on a puppeteering badge, the scouts assembled craft materials and hand puppets. Once their badge was earned, the scouts wanted to donate these unused toys and materials to the library.

Cook Memorial Public Library District gladly accepted the toys and craft materials.  The hand puppets can be used at storytime programs as well in in the Early Learning Center in Cook Library. The craft materials will be used as part of outreach programming offered by the Bookmobile in the summer months.
