Get Out: Dog Days of Summer, Civil War Days

Then go to the X-Treme Dog Park to see dogs in a jumping competition. The dogs will jump off a dock into a 27,000 gallon foot pool to see which dog has the longest leap. 150 professional DockDogs will be competing in the Road to National Championship 2011. Why Go?: Two-day living history event in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Cavalry, infantry and artillery reenactors, musicians and civilians. Large-scale battle re-enactment, activities for kids and Civil War era shopping.

Pricing: $7 for adults; $3 for children; free for children 3 years and under; 2-day admission is $11 per adult and $5 per child ages 3 and up

Why Go?: Our House of Hope K-9 Rescue is holding a rescue awareness and adoption event to raise funds for their animals' ongoing medical needs. Therapy dogs will be greeting visitors and dogs will be available for adoption.
