Why Go?: See some of Chicago's funniest improvisers on the main stage.

Why Go?: There will be over 70 varieties of sun-loving, shade-loving and savanna plants at the annual Native Plant Sale. Unique flowers, ferns, grasses, shrubs, vines and trees that will thrive in local gardens too. This fundraiser benefits the EnviroPatrol Program which teaches kids about keeping the balance of nature.

Where/When: on the Grayslake Campus of the College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake; 4 p.m., Sunday, May 8.

Why Go?: Chris Vadala, one of the country's foremost woodwind artists who has played with the Chuck Mangione Quartet, Quincy Jones, Dizzy Gillespie, B.B. King, Stevie Wonder and others, will perform with the CLC Wind Ensemble and the CLC Monday Night Jazz Ensemble.

Pricing: $5 for general admission; $4 for CLC staff and students, Alumni Association members and Seniors 65 and over

Why Go?: Mature perennials, herbs and ground cover dug up from local gardens will be on sale.
