Why Go?: The Red Rose Children's Choir of Lake County presents their spring concert, Life's Sweet Mastersong.

Pricing: $15 for adults; $12 for seniors; $8 for students  

Where / When: ; all day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 18, 19 and 20.

Why Go?: Kids and parents are invited to bring their imaginations to the library to make a craft together. All supplies are provided. Stay and read a good book together.

Where / When: Country Meadows Montessori School, 6151 Washington St., Gurnee; 1 - 3 p.m., Saturday, March 19.

Why Go?: Learn about the curriculum and meet the teachers and staff. Find out about the advantages of a Montessori education and sign up for summer camp and the next school year.

Where / When: Almond Marsh in Grayslake; Grainger Woods Conservation Preserve in Mettawa; Grant Woods in Lake Villa; 9 a.m., Saturday, March 19; McDonald Woods in Lake Villa and Wright Woods in Mettawa; 9 a.m., Sunday, March 20.

Why Go?: Bring your work gloves and come out to join other volunteers in saving some of Lake County's natural areas. Spend some time outdoors with your kids and make a meaningful contribution. All ages are welcome.

Where / When: Knupper Nursery & Landscape, 1801 N. Rand Rd., Palatine; 3 - 4:30 p.m., Saturday, March 19.

Why Go?: Kids ages 3 - 7 will hear the story of The Princess and the Pea and then decorate their own pot and plant some peas. Fairytale fun at Knupper Nursery.

Pricing: $6

Where / When: Ryerson Conservation Area, 21950 N. Riverwoods Rd., Riverwoods; 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13.

Why Go?: Take a one hour hike, learn why trees make sap and which ones to tap. Taste some sap along the way.

Pricing: $5 for Lake County residents; $7 for non-residents; free for kids 3 and under

Where / When: , 150 E. Wood St., Palatine; 11:30 a.m., Saturday March 19.

Why Go?: The Palatine Park District's Class Act Youth Theater presents this play that tells a story about how friendship, ingenuity and a little magic can help solve a young girl's problem.
