Libertyville High School Cancels Afternoon Classes

School closed due to safety concerns related to the power outage.

A total of 47 Libertyville households were affected by Friday morning's power outage. Power was restored by 8:45 a.m., according to a Commonwealth Edison spokeswoman.

 is experiencing a power loss due to a blown transformer at Route 176 and Butterfield Road, according to a post on Community High School District 128's Facebook page.

The school is operating on backup power and the school schedule has not been affected.

School officials say they are working closely with Commonwealth Edison and hope to have power restored later this morning.
