Libertyville Weekend: Memorial Day Parade, 5K and More

Are you looking for something to do in and around Libertyville this weekend?

We've put together a list of some events taking place in and around town that you can check out.

Bike Blessing

United Protestant Church, 54 S. Whitney St. in Grayslake, will hold a Blessing of the Bikes (motorcycles) event at 10 a.m. May 25. After the blessing, those interested can go on a 30- to 45-minute ride around Lake County.

Memorial Day

The village of Libertyville will hold its Memorial Day Parade from 9:30 to 10 a.m. May 27.

The parade is slated to travel from the train station to Cook Park.

Lace Up 4 Learning

The District 128 Foundation for Learning will host its third Annual Lace Up 4 Learning 5K Run/Walk on Monday, May 27.

The race benefits the foundation and its mission to provide resources for innovative and creative instructional ideas that enrich the experiences and programs for Libertyville and Vernon Hills high school students.

There is a new location for this year's event—Westfield Hawthorn Mall.

The cost to register is $30 before the race and $35 on the day of the event.
