Railroad Crossing on Peterson Road to Close Thursday

The Canadian National Railroad Crossing on Peterson Road will close for eight hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 27.

The Canadian National Railroad will be closing the railroad crossing on Peterson Road, County Route A-33, west of U.S. Route 45, for eight hours starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27.

The crossing itself will be closed to all traffic for the duration of the railroad work. Peterson Road is scheduled to reopen to thru traffic at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Local traffic will be allowed from U.S. Route 45 to Industrial Drive and from Franklin Blvd to Midlothian Road, County route V-73.

The signed detour route for this road closure will be U.S. Route 45, to Winchester Road, County Route A-34, to Midlothian Road, County Route V-73.

The closure of the railroad crossing is necessary for emergency repairs at the railroad crossing, according to a Lake County Division of Transportation press release.
