Lake County Board Chairman David Stolman declared the county a State of Emergency to widespread damage and extensive power outages.

 

 

Administrative staff and Parks Superintendent Jim Barlow have struck a deal with Mill Creek Nurseries to offer a 15 percent discount to Libertyville residents whose parkway ash trees have been removed because of emerald ash borer damage.

 

The field of candidates to become Lake County’s state’s attorney grew by one Tuesday when Waukegan attorney and Lake Barrington resident Bryan Winter said he would seek the Republican nomination for the job held by longtime incumbent Michael Waller. Lake Forest lawyer and Libertyville resident Chris Kennedy announced his candidacy for the Democratic nod Thursday. 

 

A Lake County judge on Tuesday agreed to push back an accused arsonist’s trial to August.

Kyle Kowal, 26, of Libertyville, is charged with three counts of aggravated arson, three counts of residential arson, one count of arson and three counts of burglary.

 

Libertyville Public Works and village staff have identified $15 million of needed construction and improvements to the water and sewer infrastructure.
