United Methodist Church of Libertyville Celebrates 175th Anniversary

The church celebrates its anniversary on Sept. 25 with a special service.

The is celebrating its 175th anniversary on Sept. 25 with a special visit by “John Wesley,” the Anglican priest from England who began the Methodist movement in the 18th century.

Two blended worship services at 8:30 and 10 a.m. will feature a dramatic portrayal of the life of Wesley, who at age 70, looks back at his experiences.

The program is a mix of wit and wisdom, inspiration and challenge, as gleaned from the journals and writings of Wesley and interpreted by retired high school communications teacher Fred Moore.
