Bob and Tom Zengeler Reach Historic Milestones With Rotary

Combine for 75 years of service and commitment in Libertyville clubs

Libertyville, IL, April 24, 2012:  Longevity:  sometimes it seems like a lost art in today’s fast-moving world.  While that may be the case for many companies and individuals, it’s quite different at Zengeler Cleaners.  Consider this . . . the company is currently in its 156th year serving customers in Lake and Cook Counties.  One of the hallmarks of the family-owned company is service to the community . . . and this year, Bob and Tom Zengeler reached two significant anniversaries with local chapters of Rotary International that combine for 75 years of continuous service!

Bob Zengeler, the former President of Zengeler Cleaners (who still works a full schedule at the Park Avenue store in Libertyville), was a charter member of Libertyville Rotary 50 years ago.  Already a Rotarian before joining the Libertyville chapter, this year marks a half-century of active membership in the service organization.

Commitment run’s in the family, too:  Tom Zengeler, Bob’s son, is an active Rotarian as a charter member of the Libertyville Rotary Sunrise, formed in 1987 . . . and has had perfect attendance for all 25 years of chapter’s existence.  Tom is the current President of Zengeler Cleaners and the 5th generation of Zengeler family leadership for Illinois’ oldest and the Midwest’s largest cleaner.

“Rotary International offers a great example of the type of organization Zengeler Cleaners loves to support,” said Tom Zengeler.  “Rotarians look for ways to improve the well being of people throughout the world.  A great example is the ongoing fight to eradicate polio worldwide; after 25 years of hard work, Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating this tenacious disease.  At the local level, the two Libertyville chapters have dozens of active, concerned members who share these same principles.  We are very proud to have supported Rotary International for more than 50 years.”
