Cowpokes, tenderfoots and city-slickers of all ages are invited to saddle up for a rootin' tootin' good time at Jewel-Osco's Family Day at the Stockman & Dakota Corral, featuring cowboy-themed games, Western-style prizes for winners, hourly drawings for Jewel-Osco gift cards, and a celebrity "Grill Off Showdown" to benefit local charities. There will be plenty of food including steak, hot dogs, baked beans, carrots with dressing, bottled water and more.
Celebrities participating in the "Grill Off" will include: Kim Vatis and Stefan Holt of NBC 5 Chicago; Deborah Pankey of the Daily Herald, and MJ Tam of the Chicagonista blog. Celebrities will grill-up Stockman & Dakota steaks using their own special recipes, and visitors can sample and vote for their favorite celebrity-prepared steak.
The winning grill-master, as determined by visitors' votes, will receive a $5,000 donation to their charity, and second and third-place winners will each receive $2,500 for their charity.
