The annual ceremony will be held at the College of Lake County's Grayslake campus.

The College of Lake County’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at noon on Thursday, Nov. 7 in Room C005 (C Wing Auditorium) on the Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St.

The ceremony’s keynote speaker will be Mike Peck of the Lake County Veterans Assistance Commission. Other speakers will include David Nista, CLC veteran financial aid associate, and Dante Lamar Clayborne, a CLC student.

A color guard from Naval Station Great Lakes will present the colors. The national anthem will be sung by Zandra Genous, CLC director of the TRiO grant. “Taps” will be performed by a Navy bugler, and a Navy chaplain will provide a prayer. In addition, there will be a presentation of the updated signed State of Support for the Guard and Reserve with the Secretary of Defense Hagel’s signature. An open microphone portion of the program will allow veterans in the audience to share about their military experience.
