Libertyville Families Raise $1,173 Through 'Phil-A-Cup' Fundraiser
Funds raised will benefit people impacted by the downstate Illinois tornado and Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
A group of Libertyville District 70 families and their children raised $1,173 during a special "Phil-A-Cup" fundraiser Dec. 6.
The Salemi, Parker, Robertson, DeAcetis, Blockinger, Coonan and Bach families gathered at a home in Libertyville Dec. 6 and invited others to join them for coffee or hot cocoa. Beverages and baked goods were sold for $2 in the "coffee lounge."
The funds raised were donated to the Libertyville District 70 "Sheltering From the Storm" fundraiser, which will benefit people impacted by the downstate Illinois tornado and the typhoon in the Philippines.
