Patch wants you and your family to enjoy the Halloween season, so we've put together a listing of some frightfully fun events and activities in Grayslake, Vernon Hills and Libertyville leading up to the big trick-or-treat!

Fall is in the air, and events are abuzz as Halloween approaches! Check out the many activities for you and your family to get into the holiday spirit!

Grayslake

5th Annual Pumpkin Fest in Central Park on Thursday, October 25 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. 

2012 Halloween Fall Festival and Business “Trick or Treat” downtown Grayslake and Grayslake Village Hall, 10 S. Seymour Drive on Saturday, October 27 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. 

Grayslake residential trick-or-treating will be held on Wednesday, October 31 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. 

Vernon Hills

Trucks, Trunks and Treats at the Sullivan Community Center, 635 N. Aspen Dr., Vernon Hills. October 13 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. 

Frightfully Fun Fall Fest at the Sullivan Community Center, 635 N. Aspen Dr., Vernon Hills on Friday, October 26 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. 

Vernon Hills residential trick-or-treating will be held on Wednesday, October 31 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. 

Pumpkin Launch at Century Park Sled Hill, 1001 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills on Saturday, November 3 at 11 a.m. 

Libertyville

Halloween Fest at the Libertyville Sports Complex Tuesday, October 30 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Libertyville residential trick-or-treating will be held on Wednesday, October 31 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. 

And after the night of trick-or-treating is over, you may want to unload some of your child's candy, so check the Halloween Candy Buy Back program website sponsored by area dentists.
