Shaming the Wrong Slut

Like most Americans, I was appalled by the Miley Cyrus/Robin Thicke performance during the MTV Video Music Awards.  I mean, it was disgusting to see a married man in a suit tight enough to see his parent's religious beliefs grinding his crotch against a girl young enough to be his daughter while he croons "You know you want it".

Music's in the Air

Or at least it will be on Saturday, September 7 at the First Presbyterian Church, when the New Tradition Chorus takes the stage--er, pulpit. Get your tickets soon at www.savebrainerd.org, as this is sure to be a sellout. The concert is a fund-raiser for the Brainerd Community Center, and is just an example of the kinds of artistic performances and events that could be staged at the renovated Brainerd Building.

Children Learn Bowling at Cancer Camp

Highland Park resident Bruce Siegel for the 16th consecutive year taught bowling this summer to children who have cancer or are in remission at the One Step at a Time Summer Camp on the campus of George Williams College at Williams Bay, Wisconsin.

GT Skokie Young Artists Announces Auditions for original piece, "Trusted Promises"

"Trusted Promises" is a story about discovering the honest truth about growing relationships (friendships, classmates, etc). Love comes from the heart while being a child at heart; you can be reminded to honor your promises. Audition Date: Saturday, September 7 from 5-7pm, Sunday September 8 from 2-4pm.
