Rollin' Along . . .

Update on what's happening with the Brainerd Building.

The Save Brainerd organization is gearing up for a fantastic year! With some board
restructuring (we now operate under an Executive Committee with sub-committees), we are looking at some major activities and lots of fun!

The big news is the , tentatively set for April. This will feature David Reuter's Robust Porter, the winning brew from last year’s North Shore Wine, Beer, Cigar, and Food Festival. The beer is currently being brewed by Mickey Finn’s brewmaster, Greg Brown.

In addition, keep your eyes open for such events as a New Traditions and Red Rose Choir concert in June, along with another photographic exhibiton June 17,  in conjunction with Libertyville days,  (Ah,June is shaping up to be a busy Brainerd month!) Entry forms for the photo exhibit (a huge draw last year) will be coming out in March.

And, of course, we are already beginning to plan for the third annual North Shore Wine, Beer, Cigar, and Food Festival, set for August 25 on the Brainerd grounds. This festival is fast becoming a must-attend for the area, offering fun, camaraderie, and, of course, tastings to sweeten a summer eve.

We’ve accomplished a lot in the past year with building repairs and updates, but we have a long ways to go. Remember, this project is privately funded, with no money coming from your tax dollars. That’s all the more reason for you to pitch in, either with manpower or donations. After all, the finished Brainerd Community Center will benefit you, your children, and your grandchildren.
