Save Brainerd Develops Committees, Seeks Volunteers

The Brainerd Board is calling for people who want to serve on committees to help save Brainerd.

The directors of Save Brainerd hope the Brainerd Building will be renovated into a
community center that will serve the area well. The board also wants to serve
the community in the best possible way, and to that end, is undergoing a bit of
restructuring into a committee-centric organization. We hope that by doing
this, we will use time more efficiently and involve more community members in
the daunting challenge of creating a functional center for the arts, education,
and community gathering. Committee meetings will be flexible, depending on the
members, and group meeting time will be kept at a minimum.

The committees being formed include Building and Grounds/Maintenance; Grant
Writing; Public Relations, Communication and Marketing; Special Events; Policy and Procedure; Alumni Relations; Finance; Fund Raising; and Festival. Each
committee will be chaired by board members, but needs volunteers to help
provide fresh ideas and helping hands.

If you would like to participate, contact Save Brainerd at brainerd.center@yahoo.com, or call 847-722-8517. Check out the Web site at www.savebrainerd.org, and dive in. Your help could make the difference to future generations who will continue to enjoy this historic building.
