Beach Park Shooting
On January 14, 2014 at approximately 11:50 pm the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on the 38000 Block of N. Pine Av in Beach Park.

Charles W. Walkanoff, 19, of the 38000 Block of N. Pine Av in Beach Park was showing friends a Billerica 9mm handgun when he shot the female victim in the stomach. She was transported to Vista Medical Center East and is currently in stable condition. She is a Waukegan resident.
Walkanoff was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm (Class X Felony), reckless discharge of a firearm (Class 4 Felony), aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (Class 4 Felony), no FOID Card (Class 4 Felony), and reckless conduct (Class 4 Felony).

Walkanoff’s jail bond was set at $250,000.00.
He is scheduled to appear in court on January 24, 2014.
Alex A. Spencer, 19, of the 37000 Block of Loyola Av in Beach Park was charged with underage consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Spencer’s jail bond was set at $1,000.00.
She is scheduled to appear in court on January 16, 2014.
Justin L. Jones, 18, of the 38000 Block of Wilson Av in Beach Park was charged with underage consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Jones’s jail bond was set at $1,000.00.
He is scheduled to appear in court on January 16, 2014.
A male juvenile also residing in Beach Park was charged with underage consumption of alcohol by a minor.
