Big Hollow Middle School Lockdown
On January 9, 2014 at approximately 9:00 am the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to Big Hollow Middle School, located at 26051 W. Nippersink Rd. in Ingleside, after a student found a live .22 caliber rifle bullet in a hallway near the 8th grade classrooms.

The school was placed on a lockdown while deputies and a K-9 unit searched the school including the student lockers. The search failed to reveal any other ammunition or weapons. The lockdown was lifted and the school resumed normal daily activities.
The incident remains under investigation.
