Concealed Carry Forum

The Lake County Sheriff's Office in partnership with the Lake County State's Attorney's Office is presenting a Concealed Carry Law informational session on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Warren Township Center located at 17801 W. Washington Street, Gurnee, IL 60031 from 7pm-8pm.

The Illinois Firearm Concealed Carry Act, 430 ILCS 66, became law in 2013; however, it was not until January 5, 2014 that Illinois residents were first eligible to apply for concealed carry licenses. In light of the questions that have been triggered on behalf of the community Lake County Sheriff Mark C. Curran Jr. and Undersheriff Raymond J. Rose along Lake County State's Attorney Michael G. Nerheim will educate the community on the newly enacted Concealed Carry Law.

"The community has expressed a great deal of interest in the State's new concealed carry law.  The purpose of this discussion is to help educate those law abiding citizens who are interested in obtaining a concealed carry license.  We want to help make sure that people have an understanding of how this new law works," said State's Attorney Nerheim.
