Grayslake Man Charged with Child Pornography

On January 3, 2014 the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Cybercrimes Unit with assistance from special investigators of the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office conducted a child pornography investigation which resulted in the execution of a search warrant.
On January 10, 2014 the search warrant was executed and Brian W. Stroud, 53, of the 0-100 block of Pine St in Grayslake, was the target of the investigation. During the execution of the search warrant Stroud was cooperative and provided the location of a hidden computer believed to have images of child pornography on it. An on scene forensic examination of the computer identified numerous pornographic images, some of which were identified to be child pornography. Additionally, investigators seized numerous other electronic devices capable of storing electronic media.

Stroud was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography (Class 2 Felony).
Stroud’s bond was set at $75,000.00. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 29, 2014.
Based on the extensive amount of the pornography further investigation will be conducted to determine if additional charges will be sought on the additional devices seized.
