Charles P. Herrick was World War II Veteran

Services have been scheduled for Charles P. Herrick.

Charles P. Herrick, 94, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 in Woodstock, IL.

He was born Oct. 26, 1918 in Half Day, IL, the son of the late William and Pansy (Gerbert) Herrick. He lived in Half Day for 78 years until retiring to Lecanto, FL for 13 years. He was a US Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre during WWII and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was also a member of the Long Grove Community Church, the Wheeling Masonic Lodge and the Medinah Shrine in Chicago. Chuck was the owner of Herrick's True Value Hardware in Half Day and in 1941 joined the Vernon Fire Protection District later serving as a trustee.

Surviving are his son, Robert (Arlene) Herrick of Gurnee; Grandchildren, Scott and Benjamin Herrick; Burton (Tami) Spencer, Sylvia (fiance David), Nicolle, Samantha, Alyssa, Nicholas and Randy; Great Grandson, Daniel; Stepdaughters, Anna (Randy) Gifford and Marcia (Robert) Curtis, both of Woodstock. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice in 1996 and by his second wife, Alfreda in 2009.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. Private interment will be at Randhill Park in Arlington Heights.
