Gregory J. Rezek was Korean War Veteran

Services will be held Oct. 23 for Gregory J. Rezek.

Gregory J. Rezek, 81, passed away Sunday, Oct, 20, 2013 at Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center in Glenview surrounded by his family.

He was born Oct. 30, 1931 in Chicago, where he was a graduate of St. Procopius High School and was an Alumni of University of Illinois. Greg served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He was an Engineer and was employed by Underwriters Laboratories in Northbrook for over 40 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, appreciated the wildlife and also loved tending to his garden.

Surviving are his three children, Rebecca (Mark) Cobb of Lindenhurst, Rachael Rezek of Grayslake, Gregg Rezek of Mundelein; four grandchildren, Caleigh, Kylinn, Carson, Kennedy; his brother Joseph (Betty) Rezek of Delavan, WI, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty years Loretta "Lol" Rezek in 2007. A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. Funeral Services will be during the Visitation at 7 p.m. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery in Fox River Grove. Memorial donations can be made to Greyhounds Only or Orphans of the Storm.
