James R. Burrows Loved Cooking, Hiking and Traveling

Services will be held privately for James R. Burrows.

James R. Burrows, 53, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

He was born Oct. 2, 1960 in Evanston, IL and was a graduate of A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer, MI. Jim studied at UCLA for Restaurant Management and found his passion for serving as he grew up working for his family's restaurant, Stonegate Farm Supper Club in Michigan. He was employed by many establishments including, T.G.I.F., Grand Lux Caf, the Marriot, Melting Pot, Double Tree in Chicago, and his dream position at Wildfire in Lincolnshire. He loved to cook, and was an avid traveler, skier, gardener, Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He loved to hike and was proud of his trek to the top of Half Dome Mountain in Yosemite National Park and to the bottom of the Grand Canyon several times.

He is survived by his Mother, Carolyn Burrows of Vernon Hills; four sisters, Marge (Lawrence) Siegal of Vernon Hills, Carolyn (James) Douglas of Lincoln, NE, Pat (Fred) Mariacher of Lake Villa, Mary Sue (Anton) Till of Rochester, MN; one brother, William Burrows of Vernon Hills; two nieces, Jennifer (Jason) Rose of Lake Villa, Amanda Burrows; and one nephew, Ryan Burrows. He was preceded in death by his Father, Robert W. Burrows, Sr. and by his Brother, Robert W. Burrows, Jr.
