John A. Hennessey Enjoyed Gardening, Building Furniture

John A. Hennessey, 75, passed away on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

He was born Feb. 9, 1939 in Chicago, was a former resident of Wilmette, living in Wadsworth for the past 14 years. John was an avid reader and very interested in politics and world affairs. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, building furniture and bird houses. He had a special place in his heart for his beloved boxer, Bob. He was the founder and president of Gate Systems Corporation in Wadsworth.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Hennessey; six children, Carol Hennessey (Jeff LaRue), Susan (John) Leverentz, John G. Hennessey, Andrew (Lyn)Hennessey, Tim (Mary Jo) Hennessey and Matt (Sharon) Hennessey; 12 grandchildren, Jimmy (Jane), Elizabeth, Kyler, Andrew, Mary Grace, Joe, Connor, Cliff, Mike, Makayla, George and Ted; great grandson, James; three sisters, Mary Hennessey, Katy (Bill) Fisher and Paula Runge; former wife and good friend, Jane Hennessey. He was a beloved uncle and friend to many.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the home of Andrew and Lyn Hennessey, 2012 E. Rosehill Drive, Arlington Heights, IL 60004 from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013.
