Liette Mulder was Former Local Business Owner, Loved Growing Flowers

Services have been scheduled for Liette Mulder.

Liette Mulder passed away Friday, Sept. 6 at the age of 71 in Libertyville.

Liette was born in Thunder Bay Ontario 25 June 1942 daughter to the late Romain and Elizabeth Bezeau. She attended school in Winnipeg CA. receiving a nursing degree from the University of Manitoba. After receiving her nursing degree she worked as a Pediatric Nurse in Grand Forks, ND where she met her husband, who was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force.

After moving to Chicago in 1970 she worked for Allstate Insurance as a claims adjuster. In 1985 she opened Liette’s Hallmark stores and Mulder’s Office Supplies in Bannockburn and Northbrook. After retiring in 2003, Liette and her husband would spend winters in Henderson, NV.

She loved spending the summers in Libertyville growing flowers and watching wild life around their wooded home. She was an avid reader and a huge Bear’s fan. She was a great friend to many and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years Grant Mulder; two children Ronald Mulder and Carmen Becker; and her seven grandchildren William, Jordan, Gwen, Rian, Jared, Grant and Tessa.

Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place (Route 176, one block east of Milwaukee Avenue), Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be held immediately following at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 East Maple Ave., Libertyville. Private Interment Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
