Nancy N. Grace Served as Choir Director at Libertyville High School, United Methodist

Services have been scheduled for Nancy N. Grace.

Nancy N. Grace, 83, passed away on Sat. March 16, 2013 at the Winchester House.

She was born June 23, 1929 in Evanston, where she was a 1947 graduate of Evanston High School. Nancy graduated in 1951 from Knox College in Galesburg, IL, with a Bachelor degree in Music Education. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She received her Masters degree in music from the University of Colorado. She was the choir and orchestra director at Libertyville High School for 16 years. She also gave private string instrument lessons in her home for 50 years.

Nancy was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Libertyville, where she served as the Choir Director for 43 years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

She was the cherished wife of 53 years of James Grace; Loving mother of Martha (Steven) Johnston, James A. Grace and Melissa Myers; Devoted grandmother of Matthew, Audrey and Timothy. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Nelson and by her brothers, Warren and Wallace.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. A Celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thurs. March 21 at the United Methodist Church, 429 Brainerd Ave. Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the United Methodist Church or to the Fine Arts Support Team of Libertyville High School (FAST) would be appreciated.
