Norman Buss was Navy Veteran, Retired Illinois Bell Project Manager

Services have been scheduled for Norman Buss of Libertyville.

Norbert W. Buss, 87, passed away on Aug. 4, 2013 at the Wealshire in Lincolnshire.

He was born Aug. 14, 1925 in Owen, WI and had been a Libertyville resident since 1955. He was a US Navy veteran, having served during WWII and joined the VFW while living in Scottsdale, AZ. Norbert was a retired project manager for Illinois Bell and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed golfing and spending winters in Florida and Arizona.

Surviving are four children, Rodney (Delse) Buss, Doug (Mary) Buss, Lindsay (Carl) Alde and David Buss, all of Libertyville. 13 Grandchildren, Jonathan (Jody) Alde, Ryan and Stefanie Alde, Scott, Kaylee, Alex, Kyle, Paul, Bill, Molly, Jason, Maggie and George Buss. Great Granddaughter, Charlotte Alde and his sister, Joyce Winkler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vangel Buss in 1993, by his dear friend Rita Medlinger in 2006 and his sisters, Waunita and Wanda.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. Friends can meet at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday to proceed to Lakeside Cemetery for a graveside service followed by military honors.
