Christa Marie Johnson, 36, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at her home. She was born Dec. 24, 1975, in Oak Lawn, and was a 1994 graduate of H.L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn. She was a 1999 graduate of Eastern Illinois University and was a former teacher with the Antioch School District. Christa was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Libertyville, where she served on the preschool board and church council. She was active with the Libertyville Cub Scout Pack #74 and several other volunteer organizations in the Libertyville community. Surviving are her husband, Mark Johnson; sons, Jack and Wyatt; parents, George and Carol Carbray of LaGrange; her brother, George (Linda) Carbray of Geneva; sisters, Julie Carbray (Thad) Prsybylowski and Karyn (Tom) Wolcott, both of LaGrange; father and mother-in-law, David and Audrey Johnson of Libertyville; sister-in-law, Nancy (Ted) Bleck; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Grace Lutheran Church, 501 Valley Park Dr., Libertyville. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to her family, as an education fund is being established for her children.
