Obituary: Daniel F. Gudgeon

Services have been scheduled for Daniel F. Gudgeon.

Daniel F. Gudgeon, 76, of Gurnee died Sunday Jan. 27 in Libertyville. He was born March 11, 1936 in Chicago and had been a Lake County resident for the past 70 years. Mr. Gudgeon was a career salesman and had served six years in the Army Reserves. Daniel attended the University of Illinois on a Chick Evans Golf Scholarship. He was past president of the Lake County Board of Realtors, past president of MAP multiple listing services, past president and was a charter member of the Lake Zurich JC's and was the former owner of the D.F. Gudgeon Realty Co. of Lake Zurich. Mr. Gudgeon had been an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and had retired from Federal Express.

He is survived by his devoted wife Gail (nee McCloud) of 50 years of marriage, he was the loving father of Daniel (Laurel) Gudgeon, Jr., Jeannene (Tom) Jenks, Colleen (Neal) Nicholas and Eileen (Simon) Randle and the proud grandfather of Daniel, David & Sarah Gudgeon, Olivia and Ian Jenks, Tyler & Ethan Nicholas, Matthew & Andrew Rodiek and Annika Randle.

He was preceded in death by his dear brother Jerome (Leda) and his beloved parents Francis and Eugenia.

A memorial funeral Mass will be offered at 6:30 PM Friday evening at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee. Entombment will be at Ascension Mausoleum, Libertyville.
