Obituary: Kenneth E. Knudtzon

Services will be held Dec. 9 for Kenneth E. Knudtzon of Libertyville, formerly of Deerfield.

Kenneth E. Knudtzon, 85, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Lovell Federal Healthcare Center in North Chicago. He was born June 20, 1927, in Chicago, was a former resident of Deerfield, IL and Troy, Ohio, living in Libertyville since 2010. Ken was an army veteran, having served in England during and after World War II and was a journalism graduate of Michigan State University. He was a former instructor for DAP Products and an active member, deacon and elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Deerfield and Troy, Ohio. Surviving are his wife, Helen Knudtzon of Libertyville; three daughters, Kim Teigen of Appleton, WI, Kendra (John) Fischl of Libertyville and Kerry Casey of Toledo, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Alice. He was preceded in death by his son, Kurt in 2010. Visitation will be from noon until time of services at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville, with Pastor Matt Furr of The Chapel, officiating. Interment will be in the columbarium at the First Presbyterian Church in Deerfield. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association , would be appreciated.
