William C. Diehl, 89, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Village of Victory Lakes in Lindenhurst.
He was born March 12, 1924 and had been a former resident of Palatine and Arlington Heights. He was a retired employee of the Chicago Tribune, a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and also enjoyed traveling.
Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Ethel Diehl; 2 children, William (Phyllis) Diehl of Libertyville and Judith Diehl of San Jose, CA; 3 grandchildren, Suzanne (Joe) Ames, William (Heather) Diehl and Richard (Nancy) Diehl; 10 grandchildren, Susan, Jeremy, Austin, Joseph, Mason, Joshua, Gavin, Barak, Blake, Dayton; and also by his sister, Helen Sadlak.
A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
