Ruth M. Felgar Worked as a Secretary at LHS for 13 Years

Ruth M. Felgar, 96, passed away on Wed. April 3, 2013 at the Balmoral Care Center in Lake Forest.

She was born Dec. 28, 1916 in Gilmer, IL and moved to Libertyville as a child. Ruth was a graduate of Libertyville Township High School and the Lake County College of Commerce in Waukegan. She worked as the secretary for H.E. Underbrink, the principal of LHS for 13 years. She was later employed by the Libertyville Savings and Loan, Boehm & Ray Insurance Agency, several local advertising agencies and car dealerships. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and following retirement was a homemaker and cook.

Surviving are her nieces, Sally Langlois and Mary Anderson; nephews, Lou, Steven, Phillip, Keith and Kevin Small; her sister-in-law, Elaine Small; and dear friends, Ron and Cathy Gahart, Tom and April Zengeler, Ann Kaiser, Jerry Tilens and Ron Wyatt from Sunset Foods, Marlyn Hackett, Bob Peron, and her caregiver Maria Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lula Small, her loving husband of 67 years, Maurice "Maury" Felgar on Nov. 19, 2008 and by her brothers, Seeley, LaVerne, Lou "Bud" and Clement Small.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.) Libertyville.
