Susan D. Karim (nee Kesl), 49, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at the Lake Forest Hospital.
She was born Nov. 19, 1963 in LaGrange and was a 1981 graduate of Downers Grove South High School. She received her BA in 1985 from Millikin University in Decatur, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. Susan has been a resident of Gurnee for the past 21 years and enjoyed her M.O.M.S. Bible Study Group at the Village Church of Gurnee. She was also a realtor at Prudential Rubloff Properties in Libertyville.
Surviving are her husband, Pervaiz Karim, and daughter, Alyssa Karim, both of Gurnee; Her mother, Dorothy Dekon Kesl of Downers Grove; and her uncle, Ranse (Jane) Kesl. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Kesl. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at the Village Church of Gurnee, 1319 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee. Interment will follow at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
