Shakou Libertyville Awarded one of the Top 100 Hotspots in America by Open Table.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL – April 28, 2014 Shakou put Libertyville on the map.

The newly opened Modern Japanese restaurant was just awarded one of the top 100 Hotspots in America, barely one year after opening. “We are so elated, and so proud that we were able to accomplish exactly what we set out to do, which is to create a modern urban restaurant and bring it to the suburb that we grew up in,” says Aleks  Dupor and Adam Garvanian co- founders  of Shakou Libertyville.  Open Table determined the list of honorees after analyzing more than 5 million reviews prior to announcing the winners. Restaurants chosen include those in cities such as Miami, New York, Las Vegas and Beverly Hills.

Shakou owners  Aleks & Chrissy Dupor and Adam Garvanian have been in the restaurant industry for over 30 years combined. “The thought behind Shakou was to bring a big city vibe to this thriving suburban town,” says Dupor who proudly displays the Top 100 Hotspots in America award on a wall that is filled with write ups  boasting about the restaurant’s décor and food.
