Wayne Messmer to Sing National Anthem at Libertyville's Dog Days of Summer

Wayne Messmer will sing the National Anthem at Libertyville’s Dog Days of Summer’s Opening Ceremonies Friday, July 11th at 6pm. This will mark the start of Pampered Pup’z 6th Annual Dog Days of Summer, where Libertyville is again proud to be host of the “National DockDogs Regional Competition”. You can watch as 100 nationally top ranked jumping dogs run down a 40 foot dock and jump into a 27,000 gallon 20’ x 40’ pool.

Directly following the National Anthem, the Local Dog Jumping competition will be held where 15 local dogs compete for the title of “Libertyville’s Big Air Dog”.  Afterwards, Wayne Messmer will present the awards to all the participants and stay for pictures and autographs.

Last year, Libertyville was the site of a world record jump of 8’- 4” in the Extreme Vertical by Griz a Belguim Malinois. This year, LEE Famous Donuts & Ice Cream is offering a $500 prize to the first dog to set another world record in Libertyville.
