MissFIT Busts the Yoga Myths

The yoga instructors at MissFIT Complete busts the myths of practicing yoga.

Have you heard, or do you believe in any of the following Yoga
Myths?

Find out what's happening in Libertyvillewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Myth 1:   “I can’t do Yoga, I’m not flexible.”

This is exactly why you need Yoga!  Your Yoga instructor can
help you ease into yoga and slowly work on where you are inflexible.  With
continued practice you can become more flexible.

Myth 2:  “Yoga only stretches my body, and I want to build muscle and get a good aerobic workout.”

The classic yoga poses were created to build muscle and keep the body in perfect alignment.  The poses also work on balance and flexibility.  Repeating yoga poses in a flow class (once you know the poses and can hold them for a while) is definitely aerobic.  Doing repeated sun salutations (a combination of several poses that flow into each other) will definitely get the blood flowing!

Myth 3:  “I heard Yoga is a religion”.

Not true.  Religion answers four questions:  Where did we come from?  Why are
we here? What do we do while we are here?  And where are we going after we are here?  Yoga is only concerned with the third question:  What do we do while we are here.  Yoga teaches us how to take care of our physical body through yoga poses (hatha yoga) and through the sutras how to be the best human being you can be and by     making the world a better place through your presence.  (Compassion, service to others, responsibility, truthfulness)

Have we convinced you yet to try a yoga class with MissFIT?  I know trying
just one class with either of our instructors would help!  I could go on an on
