Area Man Sentenced in Heroin Overdose Death of Libertyville Man

Timothy McCann, 20 died earlier this year in his Libertyville home.

A 22-year-old Round Lake man has been sentenced to prison time for his role in supplying the heroin that killed his best friend, Timothy McCann, 20, of Libertyville, according to the Daily Herald. 

As part of a plea agreement, Byron Sullivan was sentenced on a delivery of a controlled substance charge to 18 months of periodic imprisonment and 30 months probation in a Lake County Court this past week, according to the article. 

McCann was found unresponsive at his Libertyville home on the night of Jan. 31. He was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center by Libertyville paramedics where he was pronounced dead, according to an earlier Patch article.

Sullivan testified in court he received the heroin from  Eugene Henderson, 34, of Waukegan, who remains in prison on a $500,000 bond on a drug-induced homicide charge and additional charges, according to the Daily Herald.
