Palatine Man Charged with Criminal Trespassing at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home

Libertyville police say they saw Simon Alcantar, 20, fleeing a funeral home after they responded to a burglary in progress.

Police responded to a burglary in progress at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., on Dec. 31.

As police arrived, Simon Alcantar, 20, 1476 N. Ports O’Call PW, Palatine, was seen fleeing the area. Police, with the assistance of other departments and a K-9 unit, searched the surrounding area and located Alcantar in a garage in the 100 block of West Maple Avenue.

Alcantar was charged with criminal trespass to residence, criminal trespass to land, consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal transportation of alcohol and obstructing identification.

He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Jan. 9 court date in Waukegan.
