Dunkin Donuts Paycheck Dispute Leads to Arrest

Police say a former Dunkin Donuts employee stole two mugs because she was upset about her final paycheck.

Nora L. Lara, 39, of Park City, was charged with retail theft after police said she admitted to stealing two mugs from Dunkin Donuts Feb. 12. She was a former employee and took the mugs after a dispute over her final paycheck. The mugs were valued at $14. Lara was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond and given a March 19 court date.

Police said they saw Stephanie Elowson, 22, of Wauconda, changing lanes without signaling and following another vehicle very closely as she drove on Butterfield Road at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 19. During a traffic stop, officers smelled alcohol and cannabis and asked her to perform field sobriety tests. She failed the tests, police said, and drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle.

She was charged with DUI of alcohol, DUI of alcohol over .08, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to signal and following too closely. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and given a March 21 court date.
