In March 2010, board members became suspicious when he refused to bring financial records to monthly board meetings. Jacobsen eventually returned the documents to the board in October.

The board then hired an independent accounting firm to audit the document and found accounting irregularities. The board alerted Libertyville police, which resulted in Jacobsen’s arrest.
