Jacobson Gets Jail Time for Libertyville Boys Club Theft

Christopher Jacobson will spend 30 days in jail, 18 months of periodic imprisonment and have to pay back more than $60,000, the 'Daily Herald' reports.

Christopher Jacbobson, the man convicted in August of stealing more than $60,000 from the Libertyville Boys Club is headed to jail, the Daily Herald is reporting.

Jacobson was sentenced in the Lake County Courthouse Thursday to 30 days in jail, three years of probation and 200 hours of community service, the Daily Herald reports. He also must pay back $61,845 to the organization.

In March 2010, board members became suspicious when he refused to bring financial records to monthly board meetings. Jacobsen eventually returned the documents to the board in October.

The board then hired an independent accounting firm to audit the document and found accounting irregularities. The board alerted Libertyville police, which resulted in Jacobsen’s arrest.
