Lake County Sheriff Seeks Armed Robbers in Grayslake

Lake County sheriff's department are looking for three male between the ages of 20 to 25 who robbed a gas station in Grayslake.

Last night, Feb. 27, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Lake County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Mobile Gas station located at 33199 Route 45 in Unincorporated Grayslake for an Armed Robbery that had just occurred.

When deputies arrived, they discovered that three unknown, black males, approximately 20 to 25 years of age, had entered the station wearing ski masks. One of the offenders brandished a black, semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the cash register.

The offenders took approximately $500 and 10 cartons of Newport brand cigarettes. The offenders fled the station on foot heading eastbound through the parking lot. A Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit responded to the scene and searched for the offenders with negative results. Nobody was injured during the robbery.

“We are asking for assistance from the public on this case,” said Sheriff Mark Curran.  “If any citizen saw anything or possess information regarding this robbery, I strongly encourage them to call our investigations division.”

Investigators will work with Mobile station managers to download and analyze security surveillance video from the store.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 847 377 4250.

Is only the beginning , with a bad economy, with millions unemployed---with thousands who can't get a job because they are unemployable I'm surprise that crime is still low.

The Lake County Sheriffs needs to make a stronger presence in the Wildwood/ Gages Lake area. This is the second robbery this month to a business there that I know about(Foremost Liquors). Why do they not patrol the area more?

Foremost is in the Village of Grayslake.

True it is in Grayslake. But they ran into Wildwood just like the ones from the article above did. Plus there have been armed home burglaries in Wildwood as well.

Formost is a block away from the gas station that was robbed, both are on the border of the Wildwood subdivision, but technically in Grayslake.
