Lake Zurich Woman Killed in Barrington Crash Identified
The crash occurred around 1:37 a.m. when a vehicle traveling north on Ela Road lost control and traveled into the southbound lane, hitting the passenger side of an oncoming vehicle, according to a village of Barrington press release.
The 21-year-old Lake Zurich woman killed early Thursday in a two-vehilce crash in Barrington has been identified as Hannah McPartlan, according to the Daily Herald.
McPartlan is a graduate of Lake Zurich High School and had been attending the University of St. Francis in Joliet where she was studying mass communications and had been on the Dean's List, according to the Daily Herald.
A 10 a.m. funeral mass for McPartlan will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road in Lake Zurich, according to her obituary. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home in Lake Zurich. The full obituary is posted on the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home website.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: A 21-year-old Lake Zurich woman died early Thursday following a two-vehicle crash near Ela Road and east Hillside Road in Barrington.
The crash occurred around 1:37 a.m. when a vehicle traveling north on Ela Road lost control and traveled into the southbound lane, hitting the passenger side of an oncoming vehicle, according to a village of Barrington press release.
The driver of the northbound vehicle, a 21-year-old Lake Zurich resident, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:20 a.m.
A passenger from the other vehicle was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries, according to the news release.
An investigation is being conducted by the Barrington Police Department Major Crash Investigation Team and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team.
The 21 year old female was transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office pending further examination.
