Libertyville Police Searching for Man Who Attempted to Steal Woman's Purse

The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. Oct. 10.

Police are searching for a man who attempted to steal a woman's purse Thursday on the 500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in downtown Libertyville.

According to a press release from the Libertyville Police Department, the attempted strong-arm robbery occurred just before 6 p.m. The man attempted to steal the woman's purse, which she was carrying on her shoulder, police said. 

"The female victim refused to let go over her purse and the offender pushed the victim to the ground," according to the police department press release. "The offender fled the scene on foot after other pedestrians came to the victim's aid. The victim was slightly injured during the incident."

The man is described as being white, between 30 and 40 years old, with a buzzed haircut. He was wearing a light purple button-down dress shirt, police said.
