Man Drives Into Tree, Arrested for DUI

The Libertyville man was also charged with several traffic violations.

A witness saw Mark R. Logemann, 40, of Libertyville, drive into a tree at a high rate of speed on Florsheim Drive near Artaius Parkway at 9:40 p.m. Feb. 28, according to Libertyville police.

Logemann refused police and paramedic requests to be taken to Condell Hospital for evaluation of a possible head injury. Suspecting he was under the influence of alcohol, police placed Logemann under arrest for driving under the influence and transported him to the hospital involuntarily, police said.

After he was medically cleared from the hospital, Logemann was transported to the Libertyville Police Department where he was processed on charges of DUI-alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of an alcoholic beverage, resisting a police officer, improper lane usage, no valid registration and operating an uninsured vehicle.
