Coroner's Office Releases Name of Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

The crash occurred Thursday morning in the unoccupied playground area of Rockland School.

Update, 4:45 p.m.: The man who died following the single-vehicle crash on Rockland Road has been identified as James Hall, 69, of Libertyville, said Lake County Senior Deputy Coroner Orlando Portillo.

The cause of death has not yet been determined.

"It's in relation to the accident. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow morning," said Portillo.

A 69-year-old man was pronounced dead at Advocate Condell Medical Center following a single-vehicle crash at Rockland School today, Dec. 6.

The Libertyville Police and Fire Departments responded to the crash at 10:41 a.m., police said. Upon arrival, they found a 2007 Dodge pickup truck with extensive damage in the unoccupied playground area of Rockland School, 160 W. Rockland Road.

No children or bystanders were injured, police said.

The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was unresponsive and was taken to Advocate Condell, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Rockland Road was closed for about two and a half hours during the accident investigation.

The Libertyville Police Department will continue to investigate the crash.
