Police Blotter: $10,000 Worth of Snow Tires Stolen

The following arrest information was supplied by the Libertyville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

$10,000 Worth of Snow Tires Stolen

A burglar cut off the lock to a storage shed behind an automotive repair shop in the 900 block of South Milwaukee Avenue over the weekend of Dec. 10.  The shed contained about 120 tires and rims, most of which were snow tires that the business owner keeps for customers until the winter season when they are changed from summer tires. The loss is estimated at between $5,000 and $10,000.

Four burglars dressed in black and wearing masks gained entry into a business at 1439 Peterson Road by breaking the window near the front entrance on Dec. 13. Police say the store manager was in a back room when he heard glass breaking, followed by sounds of people in the store. The manager exited the back room and saw the four people fleeing the scene before police officers arrived. It doesn’t appear that anything was taken during the burglary.

Richard S. Hansen, 46, of 566 W. Main St., Cary, was charged Dec. 11 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content level over .08 and improper lane usage. He was later released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Jan. 27 court date in Waukegan.

Julian Cortez Tolbert, 22, of 105 Woodlake 1111, Gurnee, was charged Dec. 13 with driving while license suspended. He was later released on a personal recognizance bond and issued a Jan. 11 court date in Mundelein.

Sarai Millan-Delgado, 25, of 1616 Grove Dr., Round Lake Beach, was charged Dec. 13 with driving without a valid driver’s license, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was later released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Jan. 25 court date in Mundelein.

David Alvarez, 39, of 2630 N. Delaney Rd., Apt. 207, Waukegan, was charged Dec. 17 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content level over .08, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage. He was later released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Jan. 16 court date in Waukegan.

Oscar D. Beltran, 27, of 1318 N. Elm Ave., Round Lake Beach, was charged Dec. 18 with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content level over .08 and speeding. He was later released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Jan. 27 court date in Waukegan.

Derek H. Chmielewski, 21, of 3185 Duffy Ln., Riverwoods, was charged Dec. 19 with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and nonfunctioning headlight. He was later released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Dec. 19 court date in Mundelein.
