Police Blotter: 3 DUIs, Damaged Properties

Damaged to Property

Buildings in five locations were spray painted with red and black letters "TEMPO" along with the stencil of a face sometime between 5pm on Nov. 23 and 9:30am on Nov. 24.

Police received two reports of damage to property at 339 N. Milwaukee Ave., over Thanksgiving weekend. Two panes of glass were discovered damaged on the morning of Nov. 26. Two more planes of glass were discovered damaged at about 9am on Nov. 27. Police reports say the damage appears to be from a BB gun or other small projectile.

DUI

Police arrested Petru Burtur, 47, for driving under the influence of alcohol at 1:40am on Nov. 27. Butur, of the 7000 block of N. Moon, Chicago, was stopped in the area of Milwaukee Ave. and Greentree Parkway after a traffic stop. He was charged for failing to signal when required, improper lane usage, driving in the wrong lane and failing to notify the Secretary of State of address change. Burtur was released after posting his drivers license and bond. His court date is set for Dec. 17.

On Nov. 27, police arrested Brian Schmack, 37, in the area of Austin and Fairview after a traffic stop. Schmack, of the 600 block of Fieldcrest Dr, Wanatah, Ind., was charged with improper lane usage, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of more than 0.08. Schmack was released on bond and his court date is set for Dec. 17.

Jeanette Coronado, 23, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on Nov. 28. Police observed Coronado, of the 1300 block of West Lake, Melrose Park, driving a vehicle with two flat tires near Peterson Road and Bell Lane. Police also found an open alcohol container in the vehicle. Coronado was charged with improper lane usage, driving under the influence of alcohol, no proof of insurance, illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of more than 0.08. She was released after posting her drivers license and $100 cash. Her court date is set for Dec. 17.

Refusing to Pay for a Cab

On Nov. 27, police arrested Angeline Bryant, 55, of the 100 block of E. Winchester Rd., for refusing to pay a $10 cab fare. Bryant was release on bond and her court date is set for Dec. 15.
