Police Blotter: Airbags, Wallet Stolen from Vehicles

The following arrest information was supplied by the Libertyville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Airbags Stolen from Vehicles

Between Feb. 11 and 12, thieves stole the airbag from the steering wheel of a Buick Enclave at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 915 S. Milwaukee Ave. The vehicle, which may have been left unlocked, was parked in the rear of the building. The airbag was valued at about $1,000.

A Volkswagen convertible at Liberty Auto Plaza, 920 S. Milwaukee Ave., had its driver-side airbag stolen. It could not be determined when the theft occurred as the vehicle had not been looked at recently. The incident was reported Feb. 15. The vehicle’s steering column also was damaged. The damage and airbag loss were estimated at $2,000.

Burglary from Vehicle

A resident in the 1700 block of Elderberry Drive reported that her purple Coach purse, wallet and Coach workbag containing cash, driver’s license, identifications, credit and gift cards, work keys, miscellaneous clothing and a pair of shoes were stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in her driveway. The theft occurred Feb. 15.

Warrant Arrest

Ray Eleazar, 49, 31228 Northwest Route 45, Libertyville, was arrested Feb. 14 at Atattooed, 122 Peterson Road, on a warrant from McHenry County for failure to appear on a driving without a valid license charge. He later was released from custody after posting bond and paying administrative fees. His court date in McHenry was scheduled for Feb. 27. 

Driving Violations

Benjamin Alvarez-Hermosillo, 26, 1509 Garden Place, Waukegan, was charged Feb. 18 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended and improper lane use. He later was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 20 court date in Waukegan.

Nick W. Krause, 34, 132 N. Victory Drive, Waukegan, was charged Feb. 18 with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation or possession of alcoholic liquor, improper lane use and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He later was released after posting his driver’s license and signing a personal recognizance bond.

Tulio Esobar, 25, Cornelia Drive I, Waukegan, was charged Feb. 13 with driving without a valid driver’s license and expired registration. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 14 court date in Mundelein.

Manop Nakanant, 32, 1833 Torrey Parkway, Libertyville, was charged Feb. 16 with driving while license suspended, driving without a valid driver’s license, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 14 court date in Mundelein.

Abel Perz-Zarco, 44, 504 Rosedale Ave., Park City, was charged Feb. 16 with driving while license suspended and improper display of registration sticker. He later was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 28 court date in Mundelein.
