Police Blotter: Alcohol Arrests

The Libertyville Police Departments reports alcohol-related arrests from Nov. 20-25.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Alcohol

Mike Cebula, 25, of 7374 Clem Drive, Gurnee, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 20 after police received a report of a vehicle hitting a tree on the 1100 block of West Golf Road. Cebula was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage. He was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 28 court date.

Justin O. Stevens, 18, of 15336 W. Wildwood Court, Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 22 on the 500 block of Valley Park Drive. He was also cited for DUI over .08, unlawful possession of cannabis, failure to signal when required and improper display of a registration sticker. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 14 court date.

Sarah A. Miller, 26, of 1711 Maplewood Court, Grayslake, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 22 on School Street near Milwaukee Avenue. She was also cited for DUI over .08, having an expired drivers license and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 28 court date.

Raul Tinajero, 28, of 927 S. Lake St., Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 22 near Milwaukee Avenue and Route 137. Police said a driver reported that Tinajero was asleep in his vehicle in the Walgreens parking lot, 1770 N. Milwaukee Ave. When he woke up, he sped away in his vehicle, driving over a curb, up a steep incline and into an adjacent parking lot of a closed gas station, police said. Police added that they stopped Tinajero before he left that parking lot. He was cited for obstructing identification (a Class 4 felony), illegal transportation of alcohol and reckless driving. He was also wanted on an Aggravated DUI warrant out of Cook County. He was transported to the Lake County Jail.

Erik C. Porter, 20, of 740 Summit Road, Lake Zurich, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor Nov. 24 following a disturbance outside of a bar on Lake Street. He was also cited for possession of a fraudulent ID. He was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 12 court date.

Juan Martinez-Santamaria, 54, of 840 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 25 on South Milwaukee Avenue near the entrance to Westfield Hawthorn Mall. He was also cited for DUI over .08, not having a valid drivers license, speeding and failure to wear a seatbelt. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 28 court date.
